18日に東京・日本武道館で開催されるアイドルグループ・AKB48の29枚目シングルを歌う選抜メンバーを決める「29thシングル選抜じゃんけん大会」。イベント開催を直前に控え、各メンバーが緊張の様子や意気込みを自身のブログなどにつづっている。
選抜じゃんけん大会は、リリース予定のシングルを歌うメンバー16人をじゃんけんによって選出するAKB恒例のイベントで、今回で第3回目を迎える。2010年の第1回大会では内田眞由美が、翌2011年の第2回大会では篠田麻里子がそれぞれ優勝し、センターポジションを勝ち取った。今回はAKBのほか、SKE48、NMB48、さらにHKT48が初参戦。過去最多となる85人で争われる。
